Truck drivers may want to take a second glance at their load. As of 12:01 AM on March 15th, the Winter Weight season has ended for haulers in the southern portion of Saskatchewan.

"We'll likely leave things as is now. Once the roads start to thaw out, it does take a prolonged stretch of cold weather to get them back to the point where they're able to handle the heavier weights," said Doug Wakabayashi with the Ministry of Highways. He noted that there is some minor changes this year.

"The only that's really new this year is the nine month primary in the south part of the province. The secondary weight only period starts middle of March and ends middle of June, as opposed to end of March and end of June."

He added that the end of the month will also bring the spring road bans as well.
