The province of Saskatchewan has now seen 15 people die of the novel coronavirus since the outbreak began in the province in mid-March. The Saskatchewan Health Authority announced one new case of COVID-19 today as well as the 15th death.

The death comes from a resident in the north region. This resident was in their 20s, making them the youngest person to die from COVID-19 in Saskatchewan so far. Prior to this, all deaths had been in residents over the age of 50.

The only new case in the province today was in the Saskatoon region. This person was tested outside of the province but resides in Saskatchewan. The province has now seen 806 cases of COVID-19.

Five more people have recovered, bringing the provincial total to 737. Active cases in the province have now declined to 54. The province did not release the location of the recoveries.

Four people in the province are hospitalized due to the virus. However, all four are receiving inpatient care. Three of them are in the north and one is in Saskatoon. No one is in an intensive care unit.

As of today, the province has expanded visitation guidelines for facilities. These guidelines apply to patients, outpatients, clients, and residents in Saskatchewan Health Authority facilities, long-term care homes and affiliate organizations, personal care homes, and the Ministry of Social Services Group Homes.
