The Canadian Brotherhood of Patriots is a community support club, designed to help out communities and fellow Canadians any way they can. They do food and clothing drives, pick used needles up off the streets and out of parks to properly dispose of them. They walk troubled neighborhoods and show a presence to help people feel safe. All while helping the elderly and disabled in their daily routines and struggles.

Sheldon William, Tasha Hoffort, and Karri Reiter are members of the Canadian Brotherhood of Patriots in Estevan and they stopped in on Sun 102 to tell of the amazing work they are doing in our community. Unsung heroes until Carl Willows from Timmies on 4th Street brought them to Sun 102's attention.

Karri Reiter humbly shares, "We like to raise money, donate and do fundraisers for people around town and our communities. We are doing a bottle drive right now that starts on December 15th and we are running it until February 15th. And if you want to contact us on our facebook page at Canadian Brotherhood of Patriots South Saskatchewan Support Page. We are more than willing to take any of your bottles and donate them to the Estevan Family Centre and the Southeast Newcomer Centre."

This is a new group in the Energy City, but already making a big impact Reiter adds, "Very new, we've been around since June, so it's just 5 of us right now. If you want to check us out on facebook we are always willing to have more members."

As to why they decided to help out in the first place, "Just wanted to get out in the community and do a little bit for those who can't do it for themselves. We want to give."

The group started out their fundraising endeavors and Reiter shares how, "We did a winter clothing drive, so warm clothes for homeless people. We then donated them to the YWCA in Regina and Second Chance in Estevan." Of course, they also donated to our Gift of Toys Community Toy Drive partnering with the Angel Tree Program.
