The August water-quality report from the City of Estevan's Water and Wastewater Services had no plant upsets, and all regulated parameters for drinking water came in under government regulations.

But the amount of aluminum came in high during the yearly chemical testing of the drinking water.

A report submitted to city council from Water and Wastewater Services Manager Shane Bucsis said it won't have an impact on people's health, and it doesn't halt the department's operations.

"It is an operational guidance value under the government of Canada," the submission read. "It is not a guideline under our permit to operate and doesn't have any health effects at this value."

Bucsis will start looking at ways to lower the aluminum level.

"We will begin to work to correct this. I am just starting operationally to see if there is a solution for this. There are options to correct this, I just have to make sure it's done in a way that it doesn't create a different issue."

The monthly water quality report also indicated that there were no water breaks during August.
