Vidarneisti, a nordic term meaning "wood spark" just so happens to be the perfect name for Cathy Wood and Victoria Sparks, a musical duo out of Manitoba. The name recognizes their shared Icelandic heritage and passion for music with nordic roots.
Wood plays the clarinet and Sparks the marimba. These two instruments are not commonly used for a duo but the sultry tone of the clarinet and the percussive punch of the marimba is the perfect match for their music.
Part of the Estevan Concert Series put on by the Estevan Arts Council. Vidarneisti will perform at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Sunday at 2:30 PM.
