Winter is once again rearing its head in southeast Saskatchewan.

A snowfall warning remains in effect for Estevan, Weyburn, Assiniboia and the surrounding communities as a system is bringing upwards of 15 centimetres of snow by the time it passes through the region later this afternoon.

Winter driving conditions were reported on many of the highways in the south-central and southeast portions of the province this morning, with loose and swirling snow. Environment Canada is advising that visibility may also be reduced at times due to heavy snowfall.

Unlike the system that passed through the region earlier this week, however, widespread blowing snow is not expected with the system, with sustained wind speeds of around 20 km/h are in the forecast.
