Estevan Fire Rescue attended to a few calls last week, chasing alarms and fires across the city.

On April 04 at 11:20 a.m., a crew was dispatched to a commercial fire alarm occurring at a building located on the east side of the city. Crews responded and investigated, determining there was no emergency occurring, with the alarm due to an issue with the alarm system.

Later that day at 8:20 p.m., a crew responded to a grass fire occurring in the valley on the south side of the city. Crews responded and extinguished a small fire along the valley edge with no reported injuries or property damage.

The initial report was that the fire was caused by the use of recreational fireworks. Fire Chief Rick Davies notes that as per city bylaws, the use of fireworks is not allowed within city limits.

On April 06 at 8:50 p.m., a crew was dispatched to a reported single-vehicle rollover west of the city. Crews responded along with EMS, EPS, and RCMP and assisted on the scene. No reported entrapment or injuries.

On April 07 at around 12:15 a.m., a crew was alerted to a commercial alarm in the central part of the city. A duty officer attended to investigate and determined there was no emergency occurring before assisting with resetting the alarm prior to clearing the scene.
