Estevan Fire Rescue is letting people know that a fundraiser purporting to be raising funds for the emergency department may be a scam.

In a Facebook post, the department says that people are receiving calls requesting financial support/donations for the department.

Estevan Fire Rescue Chief Rick Davies says that they will not call you and ask you for a financial donation.

"Just want anyone to know we are NOT currently fundraising for anything and we should not be affiliated with any fundraising initiatives at this time."

If you have received a call, EFR asks that you do not give them any information, hang up, and report the call to the Estevan Police Service.
