The Estevan Police Service had a busy weekend, responding to 76 occurrences, including mental health, assault, and theft calls.

On Friday evening, a 32-year-old male was found causing a disturbance on Dufferin Avenue. He was held in custody that night and then transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he was committed for mental health services.

EPS members were then called to a liquor establishment for a distressed female. EMS was dispatched, and she was transported to the hospital.

On Saturday, an Estevan female was arrested on outstanding theft and fraud charges. She was released on an undertaking and is set to appear in court in June.

That same day, EPS responded to a residence for a report of theft of power. A 35-year-old man from Estevan was arrested and charged. He will appear in court in July.

Officers were dispatched for a report of a domestic dispute at a residence in the downtown area. All parties were spoken to, and no assault took place. EPS was able to mediate the situation and referred the parties to the Police and Crisis Team (PACT) for further support and assistance.

Police also responded to a report of an assault. Both parties involved were intoxicated, and minor injuries were sustained.

Early Sunday morning, a 29-year-old female was found unconscious by officers along 12th Avenue. Narcan was administered, and the female was transported by EMS.

Police responded to several calls at St. Joseph’s Hospital over the weekend to assist and locate mental health patients who were causing issues for the hospital staff.
