There is a lot going on at the build site for the Estevan Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

"After spending about a year working away towards this point, it's nice to see the activity at the site and things happening," explained Chair of the Steering Committee, Doug Barnstable.

"We got the excavation for the basement completed on Sunday morning. I wasn't expecting the contractor to be here until today but he had some time available and an operator so he did it yesterday and they're working today for putting in the forms for the footings and they'll be pouring those before lunch time today."

"We're looking at trying to start some framing in the latter part of this week."

He adds that the framing stage will utilize volunteers who are supervised by a journeyman carpenter.

"We'll be in contact with volunteers over the couple days just to see who is available as we get closer to starting the framing process."

Over 100 people have already signed up to help with this project.
