Residents of Estevan and surrounding areas are reminded to follow posted road signs.

"We want to remind drivers to slow to 60, even when there are no workers present," states Brandy Leippi the Communications Consultant for Highways and Infrastructure.

"The reduced speed limit is there even when there are safety hazards present."

She mentioned that some of these hazards could be sharp pavement drops, loose stones, land reductions or road work that needs time to dry and is usually slippery at high speeds.

"We ask everybody to obey those posted signs and keep themselves safe and their vehicles free from damage," Leippi expressed.

While signs are posted for reduced speeds, construction is being done as well.

"Highway 9 is ongoing and the paving is partially completed, we are expecting the project to be completed by the end of July, with weather permitting. As of right now, we expect no delays," explained Brandy.

"Construction on Highway 39 is ongoing and we also have intersection treatment going on in Carlyle on Highway 13 at that East Highway 9 junction that will be starting next week."

"The intersection treatment in Stoughton is completed now. We are going to be paving a schedule to start at that new bridge soon," she stated.
