Robert Latimer has been granted full parole, and could be home in Wilkie, Saskatchewan by Christmas.

Latimer, a 57-year-old farmer, was convicted of second-degree murder for the 1993 death of his severely disabled 12-year-old daughter, Tracy.  He insists it was a mercy killing by carbon monoxide poisoning to end her pain caused by complications from cerebral palsy.

Latimer currently lives at a halfway house in Victoria after he was released from prison almost three years ago.

His Vancouver lawyer, Jason Gratle, says Latimer does not want to discuss the conditions of his release or his current emotional state after the parole board's decision.
