The Salvation Army offers a variety of services in Estevan, with some of those set to also be established in Yorkton.

That's part of an expanding responsibility for Ronza Reynard, who'll continue to work for both Estevan and Weyburn as their Community Ministries Director.

She says that they already receive a ton of support in the community.

"Yes, ask me if I would like to add overseeing the Yorktown ministry unit currently right now they have a food bank and we are hoping soon to reopen a thrift store in Yorkton. So that's what I'm going to be working on over the next couple of months, getting that up and running and building a new team there and trying to get things right. They have great community support in Yorktown for the food bank, and we just want to expand our ministry."

There's plenty of experience with the Yorktown food bank that Reynard is hoping to call upon over the next few months.

"Oh, they've been there for 100 years and they've been running the food bank, so we're just trying to expand it to be a little more kind of like our Estevan and Weyburn. You know, we have a thrift store, we have a food bank. We have different programs we run in our community services. So we want to do that as well in Yorkton over the next couple of years, get that all built up, and just offer more to the community there."

There'll be plenty to look forward to for the experience, says Reynard.

"I've only been in contact with the ministry unit over the last two weeks here and getting a feel for the Community and meeting a few people, the staff, and people who have been involved with the Salvation Army there for years. I'm looking forward to it, It's going to be exciting to start something new and get that up and running.
