Estevan’s Downtown Business Association held Miracle on 4th Street on Saturday showcasing businesses and organizations in the community.

"Showing the local community and people that are traveling here the amazing stores and restaurants that we have downtown in Estevan. You really can get an incredible amount of things, at very unique at the stores," said Robert Godfrey from Lemon Wedge Marketing, a member of the Downtown Business Association,

The event was a success this year, despite the storm the day before.

Estevan's Roads and Drainage department worked hard to get the roads cleared and sanded.

“This event would not be able to move forward without their efforts.”

In the end, the snow added a festive touch and made it feel like a Christmas event, said Godfrey.

There were a lot of different activities to keep people entertained throughout the day.

The Estevan Bears and the U13 AA Estevan Bruins had street hockey games going on all day, Souris Valley Museum put on a few events, and hayrides were offered by Graham Coley and family.

The Lion’s Club was handing out hot chocolate and hot dogs for free.

“They handed out over 750 free hot dogs," Godfrey said, "Which is incredible.”

Estevan Fire and Rescue and Police Services were able to bring a lot of toys for the Angel Tree through their stuff the truck Toy Drive.

One of the newest additions to the events was the fireplaces which were provided by Tower Cafe and Southeast Tree Care. People were able to keep warm and roast marshmallows throughout the day, which was a hit.

The Garden on 4th was decorated for the holidays. Gale Tytlandsvik, who runs the garden was there taking photos for people for the duration of the event.

The downtown businesses were also happy with the increased traffic in their stores.

“It sounds like everyone had a great day," Godfrey said, "A lot of people making purchases and learning about what our downtown has to offer.”
