The Estevan Bruins missed an opportunity to clinch sixth spot in the SJHL standings Wednesday night, losing at home 5-4 to the Melville Millionaires.

The Mills scored four unanswered goals in the first period to take control of the game. Former Estevan Bear Tucker Buhay had a had trick in his former home rink, while teammate Isaac Suppin notched two goals.

Estevan forward Ilia Chmelevski drew the Bruins to within a goal late in the third period, but that’s as close as they would get.

The Bruins can still clinch sixth spot with at least a single point in Weyburn on Saturday, or with a Nipawin loss to Melfort on Friday.
