As announced by the Saskatchewan government, changes have been made to camping and provincial parks.

Moose Mountain Provincial Park is one such park where life has changed from previous years.

Kim Brown, the park manager in Moose Mountain, said things are still moving ahead nicely regardless of the changes.

The trails and the boat launch have been open since May 4 with directional signs in place to ensure that people are socially distancing. You are still allowed to fish at Kenosee Lake, however, you may not fish from the dock and must instead throw your line in from shore. Also closed are playgrounds, beaches, and play areas.

As for their campgrounds, Fish Creek will open up June 1, but they will only be open at 50-per-cent capacity. Regular showers and bathrooms will be closed but there are other options around the park.

Out-of-province campers are also barred from Kenosee at this time as well, but those who own property at the park from outside of Saskatchewan will not have to follow the same rules.

Brown wants the public to be aware that a few campground paving jobs that need to be done this summer, and will cause blockages at different times. A date of completion for said paving is not known at this time.

The golf course is open, as well as their grocery store, Allison's, and the Kenosee Inn is doing takeout dinners and lunches on occasion.

Up to this point, Brown said they have not had any issues with the general public disobeying rules and going against guidelines.
