Not Related To Swine Flu

Agriculture and health officials say a new flu virus found in a couple of Saskatchewan hog barn workers is not related to the swine
flu pandemic. The new strain was found after three hog farm workers fell ill in June.
Chief medical health officer Dr. Moira McKinnon describes the bug as a mixture of a seasonal human flu and an animal strain that has
been circulating for several years. McKinnon says it's rare to find a new flu strain and this one was probably noticed only because of heightened surveillance for swine flu.
