Police are hoping someone might be able to provide some information after a person was knocked off by a vehicle Wednesday night in Estevan.

Estevan Police Service Cst. Lana Gropp said a pedestrian was crossing 6th Street on the 13th Avenue crosswalk around 8:45 p.m. when a vehicle that was turning right onto 13th hit the pedestrian and failed to stop.

Gropp said the pedestrian had minor injuries and turned down a medical assessment. She said it's possible the driver didn't notice the incident.

"The vehicle had left the scene. At this time we're not even sure if they knew they hit the person. It's quite possible they were looking to the left and turning right and didn't see him. He was knocked to the ground, but only has some bruising. So he's okay."

Gropp said the only description of the vehicle is that it was either a white car or SUV.
