Last night the furry residents of Estevan and their owners gathered at Estevan Shoppers Mall to strut their best Halloween costumes and raise money for the local animal shelter.

The Estevan Humane Society held a "Pet Parade" where owners could dress their pets in Halloween costumes that would later be judged and given prizes.

The pet parade has been going on for as long as Angella Prettie has been on the board with the Humane Society.

Prettie spoke about what the funds from this event will be used for.

"Generally any fundraising we have will be used for the upkeep of the building because it is an older shelter. The funds will also be used to cover medical costs for the animals - we have a few that need dental work right now."

She added that she always loves doing this fundraiser and loves seeing all the costumes.
