The blizzard continues waging war with the southeast.

The City of Estevan appealed to the public to stay off the roads if possible, while closing sections of 3rd Street and Wellock Rd. There was very little traffic in the downtown part of the city by mid-afternoon, Wednesday. And very few businesses were open.

Environment Canada's hourly forecast predicts the blizzard will subside by around 3 a.m., when it will turn to snow and blowing snow. Gusts have been blowing in excess of 80 kph since mid-morning Wednesday, while snowfall has persisted.

Highways across southeast Saskatchewan are closed.
