Conservative Robert Kitchen is leading the Souris-Moose Mountain riding, as he looks to represent the southeastern corner of Saskatchewan for a third term in Ottawa.

At 8:52 p.m., with 41.67 per cent of polls reporting, he was at 77.7 per cent of votes.

Kitchen first assumed the seat when he received 70.14 per cent of the votes in 2015, following the retirement of veteran Conservative MP Ed Komarnicki. Kitchen won the seat handily in 2019, with 84.4 per cent of the vote.

Kitchen served as a member of the official opposition since first sitting in the Lower House, but it remains unclear whether the Justin Trudeau Liberals will form government for a third consecutive time.

Elections Canada says Souris-Moose Mountain has a population of 72,635. There are 51,485 registered electors, not including anyone who registered today.
