A male smashing his own vehicle, a victim sending money to a supposed online employer, and a fire on King Street were among matters the Estevan Police Service responded to on Wednesday.

Here is the full police report:

Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident where one of the parties was refusing to identify themselves as they didn’t see any damage from the accident.  Police attended and obtained the information required from the individual.  Police remind the public that you must exchange information with the other driver if you have a collision even if there appears to be no damage or injuries as those circumstances may change.

Police attended to another motor vehicle accident where there was just damage to the vehicles.  One of the vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Police received a report of a suspicious person sleeping in a vehicle in the Hillcrest area of the city.  Police were unable to attend initially as they were on another priority call.  When police did attend later the vehicle was gone.  Police located the vehicle a short time later at a different location.  The driver was identified and no further action was required.

Police attended to a report of an individual smashing a vehicle.  Police attended and determined that the vehicle belonged to the individual.

Police were requested by a counselor to do a welfare check on an Estevan female.  Police and PACT attended and put the individual in contact with their counselor.

Police received a report of a possible scam.  The individual was attempting to get a job.  The individual paid money to the potential employer with the understanding it would be paid back when the job was complete.  The matter is still under investigation.

Police received a  report of a suspicious person in the Hillcrest area of the city.  The individual was elderly and looked lost.  Police attended the area and were unable to locate the individual.

Police, EMS, and Fire attended to a residence in the 600 block of King Street as a passerby noted heavy smoke and flames coming from the residence. All occupants had vacated the residence prior to Emergency Services arriving and no injuries were reported.

Police received a report of a mail scam where a letter was sent soliciting money. No information was exchanged nor was money sent.

Police conducted a curfew check on a 29-year-old female from Estevan as she was on probation containing a curfew clause. She failed to present herself to the door and charges are now pending.
