Drivers traveling to and from Alberta can stop making the 200km detour now.  The stretch of highway near the Alberta Boundary was reopened over the weekend after highway workers were working around the clock to repair the damaged road.

A culvert just west of Maple Creek failed, causing a large section of the highway to collage.  Flood waters in Alberta also caused havoc on the other side.  Traffic will be restricted to one-lane in each direction on the repaired sections.

The highway had been closed since June 19th.
