UPDATE: Southeast highways closed; Colorado Low continues to hammer region

Some highways in the Estevan area opened early Wednesday afternoon, though the travel-not-recommended status remained in effect at that point.

The Highway Hotline changed the status of parts of Highways 47, 39, and 18 near Estevan around 1:10 p.m.

The roads are still covered in ice, heavy snow, and slush, and visibility is poor.

The province's Highway Hotline is listing highways in the Estevan area as closed, as of an update posted shortly before 10:30 Wednesday morning.

The following image from the hotline at around 10:30 a.m. has highways that are closed coloured in red. Travel is not recommended on roads coloured in white.
