Some highways in the Estevan area opened early Wednesday afternoon, though the travel-not-recommended status remained in effect at that point.

The Highway Hotline changed the status of parts of Highways 47, 39, and 18 near Estevan around 1:10 p.m.

The roads are still covered in ice, heavy snow, and slush, and visibility is poor.

The province's Highway Hotline is listing highways in the Estevan area as closed, as of an update posted shortly before 10:30 Wednesday morning.
