Over the weekend, I had a bit of a nostalgic moment. Nasa and SpaceX blasted a manned rocket into space from America for the first time in 9 years. It was amazing! I used to watch all the Shuttle launches with my Dad when I was a kid. I even watched the last shuttle launch that happened in 2011. So when I heard that the Wednesday launch was rescheduled to Saturday, I knew I had a perfect opportunity to watch a great moment in history with my 6-year-old son. We watched for over an hour before the launch, eagerly waiting for blast off. Then when it happened I was truly amazed at how awesome it was to see the first-ever commercially manned spacecraft leave Earth for the International Space Station. My son also really loved it. He learned a little about the stages of the rocket and even built his own with Lego. As of last night, he has also completed a space station.

My son Mavrik joined the show today to talk about his experience with watching the rocket launch. It's been neat seeing how this two-day event has excited him about outer space travel more than any of the Star Wars movies he has seen before.

Hopefully, you had a chance to see the rocket launch and the docking of the SpaceX Dragon. If you didn't, do yourself a favour and watch the highlights.
