While the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association credited the new Government for keeping its promise to increase revenue sharing, the organization noted that less than $20 million of the commitment is actually a cost to the Province, with the bulk in the form of repayable loans for lot development or Federal cost-shared programs.

 

Mayor Gary St. Onge says the increase will mean an extra $62,000 for Estevan, a sum which will have little affect on whether a tax increase is necessary or not.
