The U11 Torquay Lions finished off their hockey season last night and took home the 2024 South East Minor Hockey League U11 Championship.

They defeated the Milestone Flyers 11-7 on home ice, The Lions started off the game by scoring four quick goals that would end up being the difference-maker in the final outcome.

"We have had a great season, with a 38-4 record (including exhibition Games), avenging every loss except one," said Nicki Berg, an organizer with the team.

The Lions had a big season as they finished first place in the SEMHL regular season, won tournaments in both Minot and Crosby and placed 2nd in the Estevan Tournament.

"Such a huge boost for our small community and we are all so proud of them," said Berg.
