In an update from the story involving a SaskPower truck being broken into, SaskPower has issued a statement.

In it, they detail that a number of items were stolen, specifically: a hard hat, orange vest, personal protection equipment, business cards, clipboard, jacket, along with other items.

They say that those could be used to easily impersonate a SaskPower employee, leading to potential scams.

They remind customers that SaskPower will never go door-to-door demanding payment, asking for personal information, or entrance to a customer’s home.

If anyone is approached by someone looking to be a SaskPower employee soliciting for payments and/or personal information, they are advised to ask for an official SaskPower ID and then contact SaskPower customer service immediately.

Their customer service representative will be able to let the customer know if the interaction was legitimate – and if a customer gives the individual any money, credit card information, or personal information, they are advised to contact their local law enforcement to report it.

You can contact their customer service representative at 1-888-757-6937.
