A bet is a bet, as they say, and for the second straight season, Weyburn's police chief had to put on a black and gold jersey and wear it at work.

Weyburn Police Chief Jamie Blunden donned a Bruins jersey on Tuesday, which also happened to be his Police Board meeting day.

Blunden lost a bet with Estevan Police Chief Rich Lowen, after the Estevan Bruins beat the Weyburn Red Wings in their last regular season game earlier this month. The Bruins narrowly won the season series over their rivals to capture the Highway 39 Cup.

Blunden was also on the losing end of the friendly bet last season.

Both police chiefs were in Weyburn to present the cup following the game on March 13.

The Bruins are currently in the midst of a playoff series with the Flin Flon Bombers, while the Red Wings are taking on the Battlefords North Stars in their first-round matchup.
