It's a busy year for those involved in public works with the City of Estevan.

Crews are on the job nearly every day, doing their part to keep the city running and looking nice. That said, some larger projects have resulted in the closure of a major thoroughfare, namely 4th Street. While the construction is now finished on the 1500 block, a new portion will be blocked off for maintenance.

"We would like to advise the public that on Sunday, May 28th, the 1200 block of 4th Street will be closed with no through traffic due to a fire hydrant replacement," shared Helen Fornwald, the City Safety Officer.

"Drivers are encouraged to follow the posted detour routes, north and south, to avoid delays. Remember to use caution and obey all traffic signage."

There is no word as to when the work will be completed.
