The results from last months traffic safety spotlight have yet to be released

SGI has released their traffic safety spotlight for the month of April and police from around the province will be focusing on vulnerable road users.

This includes pedestrians, bicycles and motorcycles.

In 2013 in the province 14 pedestrians, six motorcyclists and two cyclists were killed in collisions and 678 more were injured.

Police will be paying extra attention and watching for pedestrians jaywalking, bicyclists not following the rules of the road, motorcyclists not wearing the proper gear, and vehicles not yielding to pedestrians.

Other safety tips for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists include pedestrians always crossing at marked crosswalks and obeying walk signals.

Bicyclists following the rules of the road just like a vehicle, and motorcyclists wearing proper safety gear.
