The Federal Election is just a few short days away, and after the record-breaking numbers of 4.7 million people who have already voted at the advance polls, it is clear that Canadians are anxious for this year's election.

Over the week we have been reaching out to each local candidate so you can hear more on their stances before the ballots are cast on Monday.

Robert Kitchen from the Conservative Party, who is seeking his second term in office, said the biggest focus for the party is the economy.

"It's a big concern for not only our oil and gas sector but a big concern for farmers as we see with the terrible weather we have been having and the challenges they have. We worry about the crops that they might get off. How are they going to sell it and where they are going to sell it. Those are aspects that we look at."

"We look at Coronach and down in Estevan and the issue of power and coal. The present government is looking to get rid of coal completely. This present government is not putting in confidence in the energy in this community and that is a big challenge. My constituents have been working tremendously hard to get ahead and will continue to do that. The first thing we will do is get rid of the carbon tax. That is the number one thing."

Kitchen also added that the issue of health and healthcare is a major concern.
