For the last week, the buzz around the city of Estevan has been around the sudden passing of 16-year-old Aaron Lavoie late Sunday evening, and it's a revelation that has rocked not only the family, but the community that Lavoie was apart of. He was apart of two hockey teams in the area, a provincial team and the Estevan Tower Wolves Midget teams.

"Aaron was a pretty witty, full of energy young man who played with a lot of heart and passion, he was one of those heart and soul kids on the hockey team," says his coach Jayson Fenwick. "It's still fresh in everybody's mind, right now they(The team) all want to play for Aaron. They're all pretty gung-ho and ready to play for him and honour him in that way."

The Tower Wolves will still be playing their playoff series starting Tuesday night in Redvers, and back again in Estevan on Saturday where a ceremony will be held before the game as well as a moment of silence. Fenwick says that it's been amazing to see the support not only for the Lavoie family, but for the kids on his team as well.

"A lot of coaches, a lot of the community... the support has been awesome. They've got lots of support, it's pretty good. The families been well supported so they're looked after pretty well."

For those wishing to share their condolences who were not able to attend the funeral to both the Lavoie family as well as those on the team, feel free to come to the Estevan Midget Tower Wolves hockey game on Saturday, March 9th before 7:45 puck drop at Affinity Place.
