Changes and improvements are coming down the pipe for some infrastructure in the Town of Bienfait.

"We were fortunate enough to be selected in the last go-around of the grant applications for capital projects," shared Mayor Paul Carrol.

"We're taking on a waste water project that will give us into the ability to expand our town and increase our population. Right now we're in the last stages of finalizing the planning of the project itself, so you'll probably see a tendering process and some construction start this fall. We're hopeful anyway."

He also explained what the work will look like.

"We're going to relocate our lagoon, which is currently on the south side of the railroad tracks, and extend that out to the south boundary of the Town of Bienfait and as far east as we possibly can. We're also going to put a new, innovative project in there, so that the water coming out of the lagoon, going through the treatment system, is compatible to go right back into the environment."

That seems to be the main project looming on the horizon for the Town, as Carrol noted that everything is pretty quite, though some small repair jobs have taken place.
