The top two teams in the province's 18U AA male hockey circuit are now waiting to see who their next opponents will be.

The two-seed Estevan Apex Bruins joined the top-seed Regina Vics as teams with berths in the semifinals with a 5-2 win over the Weyburn Wings Tuesday night at Affinity Place.

Estevan outshot the Wings 43-18 and had a balanced offensive output as they secured the three-game sweep.

Strahn Douglas, Jordan Marcotte, Jackson Hansen, Kade Phillips, and Carter Beck had Estevan's goals.

Ryker Watt narrowed the Bruins lead to 4-2 when he tallied for Weyburn on the powerplay at the 5:46 mark of the third. But Douglas answered for the Bruins with a man-advantage marker of his own midway through the frame.

Ty Fehrenbach made 16 saves for Estevan.

The Bruins were 1 for 6 on the powerplay. Weyburn was 2 for 3. The Wings accumulated three misconducts in the final 1:14 of the game.

The Vics beat the Swift Current Broncos 5-0 on Sunday to secure their three-game sweep.

The Regina Capitals (3) lead Melville (6) 2-1 in their matchup, and the Regina Rangers (5) are up 2-0 on Yorkton (4).

Estevan will play the high seed to advance from those matchups, while the Vics will face the low seed.
