Though he was passed over in Friday and Saturday's NHL entry draft, there's no doubt NHL eyes are on Estevan's Brayden Pachal. After a career season in which he captained the WHL champion Prince Albert Raiders, Pachal received an invitation to an NHL development camp for the third straight summer.

Pachal has been invited to Las Vegas for the Golden Knights prospect development camp. The camp begins on Tuesday, June 25, and wraps up on Saturday, June 29, with a full camp scrimmage.

2018-19 has already proved to be a banner season for the Estevan native. He was named captain of the Raiders at the opening of the season, and answered the call immediately, posting not only career-best totals in goals (15) and points (51) but a staggering plus-76 rating in 66 games, which led the league. He then posted eight points in 23 playoff games en route to the Raiders first WHL title since 1985.

Pachal is one of 15 defensemen at the camp. Three others played in the CHL this season, including second round pick Kaedan Korczak of Yorkton, who played in Kelowna with the Rockets of the WHL. Pachal outscored all three of the others. Pachal has one final season of junior eligibility remaining as a 1999-born player, but is also eligible to sign an NHL contract.

Pachal has previously attended development camps with the Ottawa Senators and Calgary Flames.
