Although the time for Lacrosse season has already come and gone, Estevan Lacrosse is still planning to have a modified season to put together. The group is not going to have a large group of different teams however, as they'll all be coming together to focus on growing the sport in the community.

"We are really excited about it," said Misty Hall with Estevan Lacrosse. "The kids are ready to get their sticks in their hands."

As with every sport trying to get started this year, things are going to look a little different. Last year, Estevan Lacrosse started their fledgling field lacrosse program, which has given them the perfect outlet to have more players together this year with more space to move around.

"We are an association that focuses on box lacrosse but this year we are going to be focusing on field lacrosse because it just makes sense to keep things outside this year so we're going to be teaching the kids field lacrosse drills and skills."

This year will be one where there are no tournaments or even competitive league play, meaning this season is going to be held entirely on the practice field. Despite that, Estevan Lacrosse is still looking at this year in a positive light. Kids of all ages are going to be able to practice together to give younger lacrosse players a unique opportunity.

""It'll be a great opportunity for some of our younger kids to learn from some of our older kids and pass a little bit of that mentor-ship from the players themselves."

Across all three of their age groups, Estevan Lacrosse has around 18 players signed up and ready to get on the practice field. Those numbers are far down from where they were last year, but they're taking it in stride to grow their field lacrosse game in its second year of operation.

"Normally our season is done by this time of year. The upcoming weekend would be the weekend we'd head to provincials so we are getting a very, very late start, so I'm happy that we can at least offer what we can."

Practices are going to be at the field at Pleasantdale every Tuesday and Thursday. Parents looking to sign their kids up can do so by clicking the following link: Estevan Lacrosse Registration
