Estevan Minor Football is putting out a call for players, coaches, volunteers, and officials for the upcoming season.

Christian Pfeifer, a representative with EMF, said that there is plenty of room for the community to get involved in the sport.

The winter training camps are wrapping up this Sunday, but they have plans to run more camps on Fridays throughout the summer. No exact dates have been set yet.

The age divisions for EMF are U10, U12, and U14, which are all co-ed as well as the U18F team. All teams are looking to add more players to the roster, as well as coaches. He added that to find out about fees or the registration process, people should talk to someone on board, and they will answer any questions that you may have.

Practices for the season will begin in August and will take place three nights a week at Chow Field from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The games will begin in early September and are typically set on the weekends.  He added that you don’t need to be an expert on the game to get involved.

“Regardless of experience or knowledge level or anything like that if anybody would like to come out and help coach or anything to do with football," said Pfeifer, "We’d be happy to have them out there this season.”

Football officials are also needed for the upcoming season. Pfiefer explained that there are many benefits to being a football referee including making a bit of extra cash and it's a great vantage point to sit and watch the games.

“It’s fun, it’s a lot of good exercise and you know, if you enjoy sports, and you know the rules well, which will put you through all these clinics that you need to know when it comes to officiating.”
