UPDATE: 11:16 a.m.: The City of Estevan has reopened the intersection following cleanup of debris caused by the storm. 


UPDATE 8:15 a.m.: The City of Estevan has officially closed the intersection of 5th Street and 12th Avenue to the public due to debris cleanup. No word yet as to when the clean up will be finished or how much damage was caused to the Soul Hideout building. The public is asked to stay away from the area as crews clean the site of debris today. 


UPDATE 7:20 a.m.: The debris has yet to be cleaned up on the corner of 5th Street and 12th Avenue after hail and heavy winds damaged the roof of Soul Hideout. Power lines look to have been handled by SaskPower overnight. There is no word if power is still affected in the area. The Estevan Police Service has left the scene.

The Estevan Police Service are on the scene at the corner of 5th Street and 12th Avenue after hail and severe winds caused damage to a building. Strong winds were able to lift the roof of the Soul Hideout building, causing bricks and the metal roof to fly and rain down onto the streets below. Also, power lines are down near the area and there are loose power lines on the street. No injuries have been reported so far. EPS is asking the public to stay away from the area. We will have an update on the story once available.
