REGINA - The Estevan Golden Eels Swim Club made a splash at their first swim meet of the year held on June 22, 2024, at the Lawson Aquatic Centre. Competing against over 255 athletes aged 17 and under, the Estevan team showcased their talent and determination.

Coach Erin Wilson reported that 15 athletes from Estevan attended the Regina meet, marking not only the start of the season but also the first competitive experience for several swimmers. Despite the newcomers' debut, the team achieved impressive results, securing more than 35 ribbons for top-six performances.

Notable aggregate medal winners included:

  • Charlie Pyra: Gold in the 9-10-year female division
  • Isabelle Pyra: Silver in the 11-12-year female division
  • Jennika Linthicum: Bronze in the 13-14-year female division

Looking ahead, the Estevan Golden Eels are gearing up for their next competition in Oxbow this coming weekend, where they will be represented by 33 athletes.
