Wednesday, July 12th marks a special day across Saskatchewan for people to come together and give kids with disabilities the chance to attend Camp Easter Seal this summer.

For the last five years, the "Boston Pizza Day for Camp Easter Seal" organized by the Saskatchewan Abilities Council has helped raise funds to make a child's summer dream come true.

On Wednesday, July 12th, 20% of pizza sales at all Boston Pizza locations in Saskatchewan will be donated to sending kids to Camp Easter Seal.

"It's been a real honour to be a part of this right from the start, and it's grown substantially every year since," expressed Deana Jesmer, Community Relations Coordinator with the Saskatchewan Abilities Council. "Over 20 Boston Pizza locations across Saskatchewan are now participating in the day and jump on board to raise funds for 'Camp Easter Seal'."

DEANA JESMER:

Camp Easter Seal is a fully wheelchair-accessible summer resort for kids with disabilities located near Watrous, SK. The cost is roughly $1,500 to send one child to the camp for a summer session.

However, thanks to community partnerships and campaigns, the camps are able to be offered fully subsidized to campers.

"That is huge for families who likely have extra expenses already," added Jesmer. "Our total amount raised over the past five years is over $175,000, and we're so excited that this campaign keeps growing each year and are thankful for the continued support."

The local Boston Pizza in Estevan is proud to continue their partnership with the Saskatchewan Abilities Council, as they joined in on the ground floor in 2012.

"We are so proud that we are still a part of this campaign and that we are supporting Camp Easter Seal," smiled Ivy Mababa, Manager of the Boston Pizza location in Estevan.
