The cold snap that has gripped southeastern Saskatchewan appears to be over, at least for a few days.

Environment Canada confirmed that a low pressure system from BC and Alberta will track over the Prairies this week, bringing with it warmer air that will drive up the temperatures.

"High today (Monday) of minus eight...normals for this time of year are high of minus 10, so we're getting above normals," said meteorologist Robyn Dyck. "Tuesday high plus 3, so the plus side of zero is fantastic."

The forecasted high for Wednesday in Estevan is also above zero.

Dyck added that the Estevan area will be mostly dry during the warm spell, with more precipitation farther north.

She said the mild temperatures will stick around all week and could even last into next week.
