With the current economic downturn, everyone in the Southeast is feeling the consequences that come with it. However, with everything that is going on, it's time for the bright side of spectrum. 

"Work has picked up; I know that. There are more drilling rigs sticking around here. That and work attitude has picked up as well," explained Kisbey Mayor Calvin Nankivell. 

The economic downturn, dubbed "slowdown", has been hurting all industries in the Southeast, including the oilfield sector, mechanics, retail, service crew and much more. Yet, growth is still evident. For example, Alameda is building a new subdivision in their small community. 

"I've noticed that when you drive to Carlyle and Stoughton, there seems to be more activity around the hotels and motels, compared to the previous years," he concluded.
