Feisty, fun, and phenomenally talented, Saskatchewan's only all-female dueling piano pair, Jacquie Walbaum and Kylee Carver, will be presenting their Sirens Dueling Pianos show in Midale on February 18th.

Walbaum and Carver, both from Southeast Saskatchewan, have combined their powerhouse vocals and musicianship to perform this multi-genre sing-along party.

Lana Hoium, Vice-President of the Midale Daycare Incorporation Board, said that the Sirens Dueling Pianos show is a fundraiser to support the building of the Midale daycare, which is in the early stages of construction.

She added that they've recently been the recipients of a government grant which will help get the doors open.

"This is our first event, and we will re-evaluate going forward, as we will look to continue fundraising once our doors are open to the public; so it could potentially turn into an annual event."

The dinner and a show will be held at The Midale Central school gymnasium on February 18th. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with supper (roast beef and chicken option) being served at 6:00 p.m., and entertainment to follow at 7:00 p.m.

Hoium said that there are 250 tickets available, with ticket prices as follows:

  • $60 each for adults
  • $30 each for children aged four to 11
  • Three and under are free
  • a full table of 8 is $450.

She explained, "We've been working towards a daycare for a while now. We feel that it is a high need in our community and we've also had community members express how much they would appreciate having a daycare."

The deadline for purchasing tickets is February 10th, and they can be purchased at the following businesses in Midale: Hoium's Agencies, the Conexus Credit Union, North Eden and restaurants, and Bernie's Variety Store.

"We're excited to be bringing the Sirens Dueling Pianos show to our community, it's something that seems to be quite popular as of late. Come out and have a good time, it's a family-friendly event for all ages, with songs for all age levels."
