New amenity just about ready at Westview

Construction of a new warm up building is just about complete at the Westview Outdoor Rink, Rod March with the City confirmed earlier this month.

The project was approved by council last fall.

"The Westview outdoor building at the rink there is just about complete," said March, the City's leisure services manager. "The contractor ran into some weather delays, but that'll be open for the summer as part of the pathway project for a washroom facility."

"We'll be putting in ice there next year for sure, so it'll be a welcomed addition to the Westview area. It's built now and just about ready to open. "

March added that city crews will likely have some clean up work to do in the spring since the construction work happened all winter.
