After the city purchased the land at the corner of 13 Avenue and 5 Street, it was decided that they would flatten the old Kal-Tire lot.
That's in preparation for another business that will purchase the land, and will develop something that's in line with the city's proposed downtown revitalization.
As such, the area has been blocked off this week and heavy machinery has been at work for a few days to tear down the old building.
If you managed to miss the teardown, we have the time-lapse of the demolition as the excavator went to work.
Along with that lot, the city also purchased some surrounding lots, which don't have a date as to when they'll be demolished.
There currently are no plans for what building will be on the lot in the future, but we'll be sure to have a story once that's been figured out.
