TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club is thrilled with how the year has gone, and excited about events coming up as the season is onto its back nine.

Amanda Minchin, the head pro and general manager, said they've had a lot of new faces and the maintenance crew has kept the course in outstanding shape.

"It's September, but you look out there, and it looks like the middle of July," she said. It goes out to our staff and our managers. You're only as good as the people around you, and we've got great dedicated people."

The final day of golf, barring any weather disruptions, will be October 15. There are a few events to watch for before the tarps go on the greens.

This Sunday is the 40th-annual Parent-Child Golf Tournament, put on by lifetime members Eldon Rondeau and Rick Rohatyn.

"It's just a great day," said Minchin. "It's it's very informal. You'll see kids of all ages and it's an alternate shot format. It's just fun that every kid gets a trophy and some of the trophies are bigger than the kids."

The tournament uses an age-based handicap to help level the playing field.

The Estevan Bears have a fundraiser tournament on September 14. And the club wind-up will be held on September 23, which is open to the public.

Michin said she appreciates everyone who has golfed or spent time at the facility over the summer.
