Whether it was because you were stuck waiting for a train or just driving through a parking lot, you've probably seen the special license plates that were issued three months ago.

SGI announced yesterday that the first series of 10,000 which started at R000 have sold out and an additional 2,000 customized plates have been sold.  The sales mean a profit for the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club of about $325,000.   Before the plates went on sale, SGI officials predicted between 5,000 to 10,000 would be sold within one year, but after three days more than three thousand were sold and now after three months, the full first series has been sold.

Don't fret if you missed out on the first chance, there is a second series being released that will start at 0R000.   The cost for the special plates are $50 plus GST and to personalize it, it's an additional $75. Anyone with a regular personalized plate with five characters or less can have it switched over to a Rider plate for just $50 plus GST and a $20 plate replacement charge.
