A new face that might be familiar to some is taking charge of the Estevan Public Youth Centre as Adam Elliott has been named the new executive director.

He started in the role on Monday and says he's excited to get to work and get programming resuming at the centre as soon as possible.

Elliot steps into the role with a level 2 in Early Childhood Education and a B.A. in Youth Ministry. He has worked at summer camps both as a counselor and as a Leadership-in-Training Director.

He has worked with youth centers in the past, one in Moose Jaw and another in Sundre, Alberta. He also has some history in Estevan, as he was born and raised here.

“I grew up here in Estevan, attending Hillcrest Elementary and graduating from the ECS. Since graduating I have always worked and volunteered with children and youth. Now that I am back, I am excited to be here helping a community that helped me when I was a teenager."

Adam says he's excited to learn more from both the youth and the volunteers who make up EPYC.

"As the new Executive Director of EPYC (Estevan Public Youth Centre), I am excited for what this new year holds! I’m looking forward to talking with all the youth that come out and hearing about their ideas for this place because this is ultimately a space for them. I am also excited to hear from the volunteers as they are the ones who have been here before me, so I am looking forward to learning from them as well.”
