The Saskatchewan Mining Association has announced that they have elected Jessica Theriault to Chair of SMA. She will become the association's first female chair in its 52 year history. 

Ms. Theriault was formerly the Director of Environmental Affairs at the Mosaic Company. She succeeds Neil McMillan.

She has an environmental engineering degree and MBA from the University of Regina and has over 19 years of experience in potash mining. She is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geo-scientists in Saskatchewan. 

She has been a member of SMA since 2009, serving as the Chair of the SMA Environment Committee and a Mosaic representative. 

She will serve a two year term as Chair. 

The SMA also has a female president, Pam Schwann and an newly elected female Vice-Chair in Ms. Tammy Van Lambalgen.
